Appletons Tapestry Wool Hanks are 100% pure wool 4-ply thread. Spun and dyed in Yorkshire, England using the Worsted system, it is one of the finest in tapestry wool quality. Ideal for larger mesh canvas work and perfect for your new projects! Wool provides excellent durability for projects such as chair seat cushions, footstools or rugs.

We offer over 400 colours in Appletons wool. Browse through to find the perfect colour for your project or use the search bar to find a specific shade.

Appletons wool is not colourfast and should not be washed. If necessary, gently sponge the area with cold water. Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Appletons is also available in Crewel Wool, a finer 2-ply thread ideal for 14+ count canvas and Crewel embroidery.
