Each card features 3x 6.5m skeins of 100% cotton hand-dyed twisted thread. These high sheen, mercerized Perle threads are suitable for any number of popular techniques, including cross stitch, needlepoint, tapestry and dimensional embroidery. The excellent quality of this thread makes it versatile enough to also be used for crochet and knitting projects, jewellery design or decorative tassel work. HoE threads feature in Roseworks designs.

Each card contains 3x 6.5m skeins in varied colours.

We recommend using a size 6 Crewel needle.

House of Embroidery est. 1995 is a South African dye house who produce multi-coloured hand-dyed embroidery thread and ribbon. As a fair-trade company, House of Embroidery prides itself on the sustained empowerment of previously unskilled South Africans. Most of their team are women, many of whom had no prior employment. The majority are currently the main breadwinners in their respective families.

Cared for correctly, HoE products are colour-fast & light-fast. Red or dark colours should always be tested before stitching. Pull a sheet of white paper towel or cloth along a moistened length of thread. Alternatively, press the thread between the folds of a cloth with a steam iron. If any colour shows on the cloth, rinse the thread several times in cool water until all excess colour is removed.

We recommend using a 100% pure soap and hand washing your finished projects with cold or lukewarm water. Wet your project, rub soap onto your embroidered work, leave for a few minutes. Rinse with plenty of cold or lukewarm water. Place on a towel face down and press gently. Air dry out of direct sunlight.
