Christine Burton

Starting out with Crewel embroidery Christine has since gone on to learn numerous embroidery techniques from tutors in Australia and America and in 2019 completed the Certificate in Technical Hand Embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework in London. A member of numerous stitching groups, Christine also regularly exhibits her work at local events and teaches at the Embroiderer’s Guild of Victoria across the state and at various embroidery shops around Melbourne. Her work has also been published in ‘Inspirations’ embroidery magazine. Awarded the Ethel Oates Scholarship by the Embroiderer’s Guild in 2017, Christine has most recently focused on historic 17th-century embroidery techniques, in particular, Blackwork, Stumpwork, Crewel, and Goldwork and enjoys sharing these skills with today’s needleworkers.

Marion Mason

My fascination and love of crochet started in my late teens while living with many creative young women when we were student nurses sharing our creative talents and knowledge. Over the years I have continued to enjoy creating crochet items including rugs, garments, necklaces, scarves and bags of many shapes and sizes. This enjoyment is infectious and has become almost an obsession for me. I enjoy sharing my love of this wonderful craft with others in workshops. The primary aim in my crochet workshops is for all to have fun and build confidence in crochet knowledge and their own creativity. Workshops cater for beginners to advanced creatives of all ages. I look forward to meeting you with hook in hand.
